What we collect, why we collect it, and what you can ask us to do with it.

What we collect
When you register for a course we collect your name, email address and phone number. When you apply for a scholarship we also collect the district you live in and the personal statement you write. When an organisation requests a Training Needs Analysis we collect the contact's name, role, work email, phone number and the description of what they want to change.
We record which courses you open and how far through them you get, because that is what lets you resume where you left off and lets us tell you when you have earned a certificate.
What we do not collect
We do not collect payment card details. When payments go live they will be handled entirely by the payment provider, and card numbers will never reach our systems.
We do not buy contact lists, and we do not sell, rent or trade your information to anyone.
Why we use it
To give you access to what you signed up for, to issue and verify certificates, to answer your questions, and to tell you about courses when you have asked us to.
Course enquiries reach our support team. Corporate enquiries reach the corporate team. Scholarship applications are read by the scholarships team and nobody else.
Email you receive
Account email — enrolment confirmations, certificates, replies to your questions — is sent because you are using the service, and you cannot opt out of it while you have an active course.
The newsletter is separate and entirely optional. Every newsletter carries an unsubscribe link that works immediately, and unsubscribing has no effect on your courses.
How long we keep it
Course records and certificates are kept for as long as you have an account, because a certificate you cannot verify is worth nothing.
Unsuccessful scholarship applications are deleted twelve months after the decision. Corporate enquiries that do not become engagements are deleted after twenty-four months.
What you can ask for
You can ask for a copy of everything we hold about you, ask us to correct anything wrong, or ask us to delete your account and its data. Write to hello@ceylearnia.lk and we will respond within thirty days.
Deleting your account removes your progress and revokes the verification links on certificates already issued, so download anything you want to keep first.
